Historic Centre of Saint Petersburg and Related Groups of Monuments

This is Church of the savior on spilled blood - one of the sights of St Peterburg Russian federation. This Church was built on the site where Tsar Alexander II was assassinated and was dedicated in his memory. The soviet goverment closed the church in the early 1930s during the II nd World War when many people were starving due to the seige of leningrad by Nazi Germans. it was used like a mosque. after the war it was used like a warehouse for vegetables, finally it was reopened in august 1997. many thank to Sofia for nice card.
