Abu Simble and The Great Sphinx of Giza Egypt

The Great Sphinx of Giza, commonly referred only Sphinx, is a limestone statue of a reclining or couchant sphinx(a mythical creature with a lion's body and a human head) that stands on the Giza Plateau on the west bank of the Nile in Giza. Egypt, it is the largest monolith statue in the world, standing 73,5 metres long 19,3 metres wide, and 20,22 metres high. it is the oldest known monumental sculpture, and is commonly believed to have been built by ancient Egyptians of the old kingdong during the reign of the pharaoh khafra (c 2558-2532 BC)
The Abu Simbel Temples are two massive rock temples in Abu Simbel in Nubia. They are situated on the western bank of lake nasser, southwest of Aswan. The complex is part of the UNESCO World Herritage Site kmown as the "Nubian Monuments", which run from Abu Simbel downriver to Philae. The relocation of the temples was necessary to avoid their being submerged during the creation of lake nasser, the massive artficial water reservoir formed after the building of the Aswan High Dam on the Nile
